PROJECT DESCRIPTION

StonebridgeCarras was selected to join Montgomery County in a unique public/private partnership to build a state-of-the-art police station on Rugby Road in downtown Bethesda, replacing an outdated facility along Wisconsin Avenue. In order to realize additional density on the site of the new station, StonebridgeCarras proposed an innovative structure that would also create the ability to secure parking in an adjacent, underutilized County parking garage. The partnership approach met the county’s needs for a modern, secure, and efficient station while subsequently enabling StonebridgeCarras to build a dynamic 500,000 square foot new mixed-use development on the site of the existing station at 7359 Wisconsin Avenue in the heart of the Bethesda Central Business District.

The facility was completed in the 2nd quarter of 2017. The four story building will met LEED® Silver certification requirements and included community space as well as a separate, secure entrance for police officers.
